BILL'S YARD SALE - REPRODUCTION GRAMOPHONE

Hi folks! Some of us are old enough to remember these. A gramophone in fact. This is a working reproduction of the old ones that graced the parlours of people in the old days. The first thing that hit me was how loud this thing was!!

I figured that in the old days without amplification things would be soft sounding. Not so. I had spun an old Frank Sinatra 78 Record just to see. Well, once the speed is ajusted you can listen for awhile before you need to begin to crank again.

The whole gramophone is designed to come easily apart for shipping. What was most interesting to me was the primative speed governor. (see it in the motor shot below. Its the brass colored item) It's the same kind of speed governor used on 1900s Steam Engines. This is a great find and a great conversation piece.
